I. Product Description:

The Tree Rotation Image Analyser is a multi-platform image analysis system that is matched to a scanner specifically designed to measure the annual rings of trees on disc-shaped wood sections or column-shaped growth cone samples. Large wood samples can be imaged multiple times in different parts of the tree; special core positioners are available for placing columnar samples; two automatic methods for determining the annual rings are available for different tree types; manually-assisted image recognition correction and missing pixel additions are available; in addition, the tangent line of the angle between the cracks and the annual rings can be set automatically to ensure accurate measurements; and additional features allow standard growth analyses of the plant. Additional features allow for standard plant growth analyses, such as average stem radius, diameter and overall cross-sectional area; tree height, volume and age. For the analysed annual rings, the following parameters can be displayed at the same time: annual ring width, earlywood/summerwood width, annual ring maximum/minimum density/average density, earlywood/summerwood, etc.

2.Measurement and analysis of plant annual rings:

(1) It can automatically read the number of annual rings, the average width of each annual ring, the width of earlywood and latewood, the tangential angle and area of each annual ring, and it can automatically delineate the boundaries of annual rings, earlywood boundaries and latewood boundaries, as well as identify very narrow tree rings. It can interactively delete pseudo-annual rings, insert broken annual rings, and analyse tree disc area, circumference, average diameter, shape factor, pore area, and annual ring technology.

(2) It can automatically generate the internationally accepted chronology for analysis. The measured data obtained from the analysis has the ability to further do cross-dating and data analysis.

(3) It has the characteristics of temporary storage and loading of the data of annual rings, so that it can be analysed and compared continuously in the future.

(4) It has the characteristic of ‘software body mirror’ for fine analysis. There are path endpoints adsorption positioning characteristics, unsatisfactory analysis of the path can also be disconnected, deleted, added and edited, as well as the results of the analysis of the map line can be saved.

(5) The angle adjustment on the graph line has the following characteristics, and can be cancelled or deleted when drawing the path. Directly analyses images of annual rings scanned with ultra-high precision up to 1GB. It has the ability to automatically analyse extremely fine annual rings with a width of <0.2mm.

(6) Calculates the total area of the tree disc. Can save or read images in TIFF, BMP, PNG, JPEG standard formats.

(3) The system comes with calibration function, XY direction can be calibrated and corrected respectively. With the function of following magnifying glass, accurate measurement by dragging the mouse. The image can be zoomed in and out and local observation, can achieve the mouse area selection statistics. Analysis image, distribution map, result data can be saved, analysis results output to Excel table, can output analysis mark map.

Fourth, the system consists of the following two parts:

Image pouncing system: standard annual cycle sample scanning equipment, growth cone locator and so on.

A4 format: scanning area of 22 × 30cm, projection area of 20 × 25cm, resolution 4800DPI, can distinguish the smallest particle 0.005mm

A3 format: large scanning area 31×44cm, projection area 31×42cm, resolution 2400DPI, can distinguish the smallest particle 0.011mm
